Ban’s is a massive Diving resort, I ended up staying an extra 2 nights to complete both my open water and my advanced open water, room was great, facilities are excellent too, and the staff are very friendly

Great location, nice property. Great staff

Great location, bang in the middle of everything. We were lucky enough to have a room near the restaurant/ beach Breakfast was nice and varied

Room was described as a suite but it was just a pretty standard hotel room . If you want to use the onsite gym then it’s over the other side of the road and you have to pay to use it which is rather unusual as a guest

The staff is very helpful, the location is great and the hotel offers anything you need for a perfect vacation. breakfast is good.

some of the rooms are in a very noisee erea, others are not in the same level, some old, some are far up in the hill. I changed the room twise beacause of that.

Big and beautiful. Good restaurants and a bar with live music by the beach.

Villas up in the hills…Beautiful and quiet, but hard climbing if you dont want to wait for a (free) golf cart shuttle.

We had a great time and took diving lessons. Bungalows on the hill have beautifull view

Bungalows on the hill hard to access without motobyke or hotel tuk tuk car. We used our bike to go up and down every time

Clean and beautiful resort with great management and service

Rooms usually available on short notice. Clean room and beautiful resort.

Strong odor of cleaning supplies or air fresher. In the room. Took 1/2 day to air out the room. Balcony with garden view was beautiful, but we had smokers on either side of us and because of balcony design, the air was stagnant, not fresh. Many times I couldn’t enjoy the balcony for this reason.

a very nice place, spaceous dorms.

even though we were 10 people the dorm didn't felt crowded. the lockers are big enough and to every bed had 2 shelfs. the stuff was very helful with every need. the location is great and super accessible.

there's only 3 bathroom and showers for 4 dorms (40 people), and sometimes they were unusable. they don't give you a lock to the locker you need to bring your own.

Central location, big pools, fast check-in and checkout, beach front access, friendly staff, lots to do and discover around.

Noise from young guests that smoke and party with no respect to other guests. Sewage smell in the bathroom.

Must be doing something right…

3rd time staying at Ban’s. Not the cheapest place on Koh Tau but decent rooms, great pool and right in the centre of everything. Helpful staff - even when I left without checking out and clearing my restaurant bill as I was on the 0700 speedboat back to Ko Samui. Housekeeping were particularly good on the is stay - thank you!

Great find - would recommend

This resort is huge! It has multiple swimming pools which are all really nice and rooms for every budget. Staff are great and they have a bar/restaurant, mini market and diving school. Would definitely stay here again!

What was the highlight of Ban's Diving Resort

Clean, large resort with decent pools. Poor WiFi breakfast options and staff could be a little friendlier.

The pools were decent size and well maintained and there were plenty of them. The room was clean, as a fair size, and it was in a good location, only a short 15 minute walk from the main part of Sairee beach.

WiFi was horrendously slow in our room and kept dropping out. We had several power cuts. The shower was a bit temperamental with temperatures and also had no shower curtain which soaked the bathroom floor. Some of the lights didn’t work, which meant half our room was a bit dark. The walls are also paper thin, and for the first few nights we had noisy neighbours blaring music which kept us awake until around 1am (though when bought to the attention of staff, this was dealt with). Breakfast had a fair few options, but they wernt great, and lacked simpler breakfasts like cereal, fruit and plain toast. Our room was right at the very top of the resort, which is up a very large and steep hill. We were also on the fifth floor of our building which didn’t have a lift, so after trekking the hill everyday, you then had to climb 4 flights of stairs to the room.

Nice resort, with some downsides to consider

The hotel is a big complex with many buildings, swimming pools, convenient stores, restaurant, and some other shops. It is surrounded by nature. Very beautiful. And the lower part of the resort is on the sea. The whole area is very nice and very welcoming. The staff is also nice and helpful. Rooms were clean. Breakfast is good. The diving school is superb.

- The family "villa" we booked had two main flaws: first, it was located right next to an artificial pond FULL of frogs. At night it was just impossible to sleep even with ear plugs. I never heard such loud frogs before. Second, the "villa" was two bedrooms (very nice, very clean), connected with a "living room" that is actually a balcony. It is open to the outside, which means rain and insects enter freely, as well as noise from other guests, and the frogs of course. - The resort staff was kind enough to switch our room, but only to a smaller one, so not a villa anymore, just a spacious hotel room where they added extra beds for our children. But no frogs there - so no further complaints from us! - It is important to understand that the resort is located on a rather steep hillside. So whenever you want to go to your room from the "center" area by the sea (we did diving lessons so we were mostly down by the sea), you need to climb up (unless you get a room in the lower part but then it might be noisier during the day). This might be ok in good weather, but if it's super hot, or if there is a crazy storm (like we had), it's not convenient at all. The hotel provides a "shuttle" service with club cars, but we found it inefficient as sometimes the wait times are long (but the guys running it are great, they are just quite busy). Also in heavy rain the club cars get wet. - The hotel, like many others in Koh Tao, provides transfer from/to the ferry terminal (which is a separate story for another time, especially in rain), but the ride is at the back of a pickup truck, completely unprotected from the weather. We should have gotten a taxi as it was pouring rain and we got there soaked despite wearing rain covers. - They charge 3% for credit card payments. So the price on booking.com is not final.
